Ten Egyptian students from various governorates received travel grants to Japan in recognition of their programming excellence, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education announced.
The ministry also unveiled 50 company training opportunities designed to give students practical experience and align their abilities with labour market demands. The announcements took place during a celebration organized in partnership with Japanese education company SPRIX and held under the patronage of Education and Technical Education Minister Mohamed Abdel-Latif.
Officials stated that the initiative aims to reward top-performing students, introduce them to international expertise, and improve their readiness for future learning and innovation. Several senior ministry and Al-Azhar officials attended the event alongside SPRIX representatives.
The collaboration forms part of broader educational ties between Egypt and Japan. Cooperation expanded significantly after the education ministry signed an agreement with SPRIX in August 2025 to update mathematics and information technology curricula using Japanese models.
SPRIX is supporting a five-year mathematics curriculum development project and assisting with the rollout of the Japanese QUREO platform for programming and artificial intelligence instruction among first-year secondary students. The programming curriculum is planned to reach technical schools during the 2026/2027 academic year.
