Egypt and France partner to launch transport technology school in Badr City

Egypt's Ministry of Education signed an agreement with French partners to open an applied technology school in Badr City for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Egypt's Ministry of Education and Technical Education has signed an agreement with French transport operator RATP Dev's Egyptian subsidiary, RDMC, and the French Development Agency to establish a specialized applied technology school in Badr City.

Classes at the new institution will begin in the 2026/2027 academic year. The school aims to train technicians to operate and maintain modern transport systems, according to the ministry.

The cooperation protocol was signed by Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif, RDMC CEO Wadie Bouchiha, and the director of the French Development Agency Cairo office, Marie-Cécile Tirion.

Minister Abdel Latif praised the longstanding partnership with France in technical education, noting that the initiative aims to offer a distinguished model combining French expertise with local labour market needs.

Programme details and certificates

  • The institution will operate under Egypt's applied technology school system and international quality standards.
  • Students will complete a three-year programme located in Badr City within the Cairo Governorate.
  • Graduates completing the final year will receive a technological baccalaureate alongside an accredited work-experience certificate from RDMC or the designated practical training entity.

The partnership forms part of broader efforts by Egypt to modernize vocational education, improve graduate employability, and align technical specializations directly with the demands of the transport sector.
