Egypt's Technical Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority has signed a memorandum of understanding with China's Education Quality Evaluation Agency to enhance cooperation in vocational education.
The agreement focuses on institutional evaluation, quality assurance, and programme accreditation. It was finalized on the sidelines of an international conference on global vocational and technical education development held in Tianjin, China, from 15 to 17 October.
Under the accord, both agencies will exchange practical expertise, carry out comparative research on evaluation indicators, and organize joint capacity-building activities. The deal also opens the possibility of future mutual recognition of accreditation standards, pending technical comparisons.
The Egyptian authority stated that the partnership aims to elevate national institutions and programmes to better match local, regional, and international labor market requirements.
Bilateral vocational cooperation between Egypt and China already features the Egypt Luban Workshop, established through Ain Shams University and two Tianjin vocational colleges, alongside training partnerships involving TEDA.
