MIDYAN Developments invests EGP 12bn across education and healthcare sectors

MIDYAN Developments has unveiled a 2027-2030 growth strategy backed by EGP 12bn in consolidated investments across education, healthcare, and other sectors.

MIDYAN Developments has introduced its growth strategy for 2027 through 2030, aiming to expand its portfolio into new asset classes and geographic regions. The group plans to add one operating asset annually under a built-to-own model, which involves retaining properties for long-term ownership while specialized partners manage operations through revenue-sharing agreements.

Founded in 2017, the company holds consolidated investments exceeding 12bn Egyptian pounds (EGP) covering operating assets, developments, and future plans across education and healthcare. Ahmed Lotfy Soliman, CEO of MIDYAN Developments Group, noted that these sectors offered natural starting points due to sustained demand and community needs.

The group's initial operational property, Alexandria International Academy in Abis, opened in 2020 with a capacity of 1,050 students and is managed by the Egypt Education Platform. Expansion continues with the Alexandria British Academy in El Seyouf, slated to open in September 2027 to accommodate up to 1,750 students, alongside plans for another K-12 school.

In higher education, the group is developing Mediterranean University in Alexandria through its subsidiary LDV for Development. The institution is designed to serve approximately 10,775 students across six faculties and will feature a university hospital with more than 250 beds.

Across current and upcoming educational facilities, MIDYAN targets a total capacity exceeding 14,000 students. These initiatives are projected to generate over 2,500 permanent roles and more than 8,000 construction jobs.

Chief Financial Officer Ihab Abo-Taleb explained that the built-to-own model requires evaluating investments based on long-term operational requirements, life-cycle costs, market demand, and partner capabilities. As part of its diversification efforts, the firm is also examining opportunities in last-mile logistics and potential acquisitions.
