Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly outlined a series of development recommendations at the closing session of Egypt Forum 2026 on Saturday. The six-day event, held under the theme A Look at Today, A Vision for Tomorrow, ran from October 19 to 24, bringing together government officials, experts, and citizens.
The proposals focus on multiple sectors, including wages, housing, agriculture, industry, investment, energy, and education. Among the key targets is raising the minimum wage from EGP 8,000 to EGP 15,000 by fiscal year 2029/30. The agenda also includes improving the incomes of university faculty members and their assistants.
In the education sector, the recommendations call for expanding the number of Egyptian-Japanese schools and enhancing overall institutional offerings. The forum's broader economic plans target expanding cultivated land, providing one million housing units over four years, and scaling up renewable energy projects.
Additional proposals involve public debt ceilings, enhanced support for local manufacturing, and new employment initiatives across information technology and industrial sectors.
